Special Education Services

The Mayer Unified School District offers a wide-range of services to students with special needs. Students in grades preschool through grade twelve are provided programming in both mainstream and self-contained environments, depending on the severity of their handicap.

The District has a certified school psychologist as well as special education personnel offering occupational therapy; physical therapy and speech, and a staff of certified teachers adhering to all regulations provided in both state and federal guidelines.

District screening is available throughout the school year. In addition, formal screening is scheduled before each school year for children starting at age three. Parents who are concerned or feel their children may need specialized assistance should contact the school psychologist at: 928-642-1008.
