Child Find

Child Find is a component of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA ’04) that requires Public Education Agencies (PEA) to locate, identify, and evaluate all children with disabilities, aged birth through 21 years, who need early intervention or special education services.

If you have concerns regarding your child’s development and live in the Mayer Unified School District boundaries, we offer free monthly developmental screening at Mayer Elementary School. Please contact 928-642-1041 to schedule an appointment.

Screenings will be held on a Wednesday each month between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the Elementary School.

The following dates are set for the Child Find Screenings:

November 16, 2023

December 14, 2023

January 18, 2024

February 15, 2024

March 21, 2024

April and May as needed



**Children ages birth to 2 years and 10.5 months are screened through the Arizona Early Intervention Program (AzEIP) to determine if early intervention services are needed. For more information, call 1-888-439-5609 or 602-532-9960.
