- Must have or be able to obtain a valid Arizona Teaching Certificate with Special Education Endorsement.
- Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university in special education preferred.
- Site or district administrative experience.

Carries out policies, regulations and requirements of the Governing Board, the Superintendent and/or his/her designee.

Directs, coordinates and supervises all of the district’s special education programs.
*ELL Program, 504 Program, Gate Program, AZ EIP Program, ED-P, Child Find Program, Child Study Program, Pre-School Program.

Directs special education referral and placement procedures to ensure compliance with local, state and federal guidelines.

Work with special education teachers to develop, implement and maintain the district special education curriculum.

Assists the school principal in the evaluation of teaching performance of special education instructors, as requested.

Prepare proposals for outside funding of various programs as appropriate.

Maintains a commitment to ongoing growth in self and others, supporting and participating in District and site professional growth programs.

Prepare and maintain all reports as required by state and local authorities.

Evaluates expenditure requisitions and allocates instructional supply, material and equipment funds appropriately.

Assists the school community and the public in their awareness of the district goals and objectives and the strategies for achieving them.

Provide liaison between administrators, parents and teachers.

4 Day Work week, 12 month position
Position Overview: To provide leadership and coordination in the ongoing development and improvement of the district’s Special Educational program. Administers Grant Management for Special Education Services. Ability to establish and maintain procedures for the resolution of conflict in an effort to maintain a high level of staff morale.
