Tax Credit Information

Use Your Tax Credit to Help the Students of the Mayer Unified School District!

Tax Credit
  • The tax credit is applied against the taxpayer’s Arizona income taxes.
  • The donation must be used for extracurricular activities or character education programs. Extracurricular programs are defined as school-sponsored educational activities that supplement the education programs of the school.
  • The credit is available to any Arizona taxpayer filing an income tax return. A married taxpayer filing jointly may claim up to a $400 credit. Taxpayers filing single or head of household may claim up to a $200 credit. Any donation in excess of the credit amount may be claimed as charitable donations on their itemized deductions.
  • You are not required to have a child or dependent enrolled in the school district to take advantage of the extracurricular tax credit program.
  • Taxpayers would use Arizona Form 322 to claim this credit. For more information go to https://azdor.gov/tax-credits/public-school-tax-credit. (see Arizona Department of Revenue Guidelines (ARS 43-1089.01))
