Job Posting: School Finance Director

Mayer Unified School District is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented School Finance Director to oversee the district’s financial operations and support sound fiscal management. This position is responsible for budget development, financial reporting, payroll oversight, audits, grants management, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in school finance or public sector accounting, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, administrators, and community stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• Experience in school finance, governmental accounting, or public budgeting preferred
• Knowledge of Arizona school finance regulations is a plus
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare and manage district budgets
• Monitor expenditures and financial reporting
• Oversee payroll, purchasing, and accounting functions
• Coordinate audits and compliance reporting
• Support district leadership with financial planning and analysis
