COVID Notification 10-19-2021

Posted on 10/19/2021

Dear Mayer Unified School District families and staff,

We would like to welcome you all back after Fall Break. We have been fortunate with family support to not have any extensive quarantine issues with COVID up until now.

We are continuing to follow county and state healthcare guidelines for COVID-19 quarantine requirements.

We have had 2 exposure incidents at Mayer Elementary School impacting 3rd and 5th grade classrooms. All families have been contacted that require contact tracing for their quarantine time frames.

We would ask that all staff, students, and families take extra precautions during this time. Please stay home if you or your student are ill.

Thank you for your continued support of Mayer Unified School District.

Sincerely,

Dean Slaga Superintendent

Health & Safety Update

Posted on 09/30/2021

Dear Mayer Unified School District families and staff,

I would like to take the time to thank all our students, families, and staff members for a solid start to our school year.

Families have been doing a wonderful job in keeping their children home when health issues have occurred. We have had minimal need to quarantine.

Strictly as a precaution, as temperatures change and we move into the normal cold and flu season, we are going to ramp up our efforts to keep everybody safe. Handwashing stations will be made available for any student or staff member who wants to take these extra precautions during this time. We will be continuing our efforts to disinfect and clean our facilities and vehicles.

Once again we would like to thank the entire Mayer family for working hard to keep our kids in school during this time.

Sincerely,

Dean Slaga
Superintendent

2021-2022 Start of School

Dear Mayer Unified School District families,

We would like to thank all our Mayer families for working through an incredibly difficult school year this past year.

We are looking forward to seeing all of our students and families back for the start of school on Monday, August 9th.

Per state legislative mandate, no student or staff member can be required to wear a mask or be vaccinated. Students, however, may wear masks at their discretion, if necessary. We ask that all students and families respect the health and safety needs of those around them.

Please be aware that all bus routes and schedules are posted on the district and school websites. Please be patient as it always takes us a few days to have everything running smoothly.

You will also find cafeteria menus posted on the school websites. The free lunch program for ALL students will be in effect for 1 more year per federal guidelines.

We look forward with great anticipation to seeing our students back next Monday! We have improved technology in all our classrooms to support student learning.

If you have any specific questions for the schools, please contact the school front office:
