HMH Curriculum for K-8 ELA
- HMH is not involved in supporting state education departments with implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion policies in school curriculums and professional development programs.
- HMH is committed to complying with federal and state legislation and does not include controversial or discriminatory topics/texts in our curriculum.
- Since Florida was mentioned, HMH core curriculum is widely used throughout Florida and Texas. In fact, because those states have so widely adopted HMH core programs, HMH offers state-specific versions for both states that align directly with their State Standards. In Florida for example, more than half of the schools use HMH programs.
- HMH acknowledges that DEI initiatives in education have been linked to increasing polarization and therefore do not include controversial topics in our curriculum programs so that our programs can be confidently used throughout the country and across the globe.
- HMH's professional development services do not include DEI topics
HMH provides high-quality, objective, and age-appropriate materials to help teachers and students meet their educational goals and reach their potential. HMH materials are based on best educational practice and academic curriculum standards; they are in compliance with all Arizona regulations and meet Arizona standards and requirements. HMH programs offer rigorous, balanced content and features to help teachers teach and students grow into informed citizens. HMH does not advocate for a particular ideology, political organization, or cause.
As the largest K-12 learning technology company, we are honored to play a role in the learning journeys of millions of students and educators each day.
